An exhibition of paintings linked to Good Friday at the Nicolo Isouard Club in Mosta

As we are currently during the Good Friday period, an exhibition entitled “SACRO Contemporaneo” has been been made and includes sixteen paintings linked to excerpts from the story of Christ and traditional saints, by the artist Kurt Friggieri, at the Nicolo Isouard Club, Mosta.

The exhibition consists of various artworks made with oil on canvas, the “alla prima” technique and the use of a Knife palette. Among this exhibition the most standout painting is the one related to the last supper named “Novissima Cena” while there are many more eye-catching works including those of the redeemer, crucifix, resurrection, lady of sorrows, among others.

I visited this exhibition where I spoke to the artist, Kurt Friggieri who in a nutshell gave me an account of what exactly this exhibition includes in itself while also stating how in many of the works he paints, he like to goes into the detail of faces.

He stated, “A general comment on this exhibition which I obviously referred to as “SACRO Contemporaneo”, for the simple reason that for these Good Friday times we prepare for a passion of our lord Jesus Christ and I made many artworks on the passion of our lord Jesus Christ.”

Friggieri said that this exhibition has been open to the public every day, since Wednesday 20 th March and is still due until Good Friday. He finally appealed for everyone to take the opportunity and visit this wonderful exhibition.
